Pista & Piloti: A weekend dedicated to Alfa Romeo
On the last weekend in August, all eyes were once again on Rosso Corsa in Hunsrück. The APPIA Automotive Group organised this year’s big engine festival for classic and modern Alfa Romeo cars. The event kicked off on Saturday with the ‘Driving Experience’ for modern Alfa Romeo cars. A total of 115 teams were allowed to participate – symbolic of the 115th anniversary that Alfa Romeo is celebrating this year.

Participants were not only able to hone their personal driving technique on the race track with their own vehicle (with professional racing driver support), but also experience the entire range of new Alfa Romeo cars on site during test drives. The winding, quiet roads in the Hunsrück region around Bad Kreuznach offered ideal conditions and a suitable environment for enjoying the driving dynamics of the vehicles.
From Saturday lunchtime onwards, the historic paddock began to fill up. With a total of 225 historic racing cars, all racing classes from pre-war to youngtimers were packed to the rafters. The spectacular driving manoeuvres thrilled the audience in the stands as well as those who stayed at home and watched the new live stream for the first time. The live stream offered real-time images from several camera angles on the track and was accompanied by entertaining commentary.

The 60th anniversary of the Alfa Romeo GTA and the 40th anniversary of the Alfa Romeo 75 were also celebrated, which is why there were special exhibitions and parking spaces on site for both models. A total of 340 vehicles were on the track, as well as countless Alfa Romeos belonging to spectators and participants spread across the large grounds. All in all, it was a fantastic motor festival, which, in collaboration with our sponsors and the Stellantis Group, is sure to be repeated next year.
